These days, the talk about gut health has become more prevalent as it relates to digestion, stress levels, healthy skin, weight management, and an overall boost in your general health and wellbeing.
But why is gut health so important? The simple answer is this: your gut helps aid digestion to help your body absorb critical nutrients. A healthy gut microbiome means that a host of basic functions including metabolism, sleep, stress, and more are regulated properly, and in the long term will help protect against chronic diseases including diabetes type 2, coronary heart disease, obesity, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis. I know it all sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo, but your gut is one of the most important microbiota in your body that directly affects, well, everything.
“If your gut is imbalanced and your immune system isn’t working properly, your serotonin and hormones won’t either, making it more challenging to stay healthy.”

“Berry” Good For Your Gut Fresh Cold Pressed Juice
Ingredients
- 6-8 large Strawberries
- 6-8 large Blackberries
- 3 Persian Cucumbers
- 2 sprigs Fresh Mint (leaves only)
- 1 cup Pineapple
Equipment
- 1 Cold Press Juicer
Instructions
- Chop rough ends off cucumbers, and remove stems and core from strawberries.
- Place all ingredients into juicer (or blender). We decided to press the blackberries directly so the seeds didn’t clog the mechanism. Serve juice into a cup of ice if drinking it fresh, or store for up to 3-4 days.
