Food Is My Love Language.
When I’m creating meals at home, I feel closest to my mom, and from it I get a sense of peace and relief from the everyday hustle (read: natural anxiety relief). Cooking has always been my escape and my personal sense of comfort, and keeping my mom’s legacy alive has been my sole purpose in sharing my favorite recipes with all of you; it’s the fuel that keeps me coming back to the kitchen to create more.
I believe that food should always make you feel something – whether you’re in the kitchen making it, or at the table enjoying it.
Hi! I’m Kyrsti –
A natural foodie at heart, I learned how to cook from the youngest age I can remember, often assisting my mom in the kitchen to create dishes inspired by flavors from around the world. Among her family and friends, my mom was “famous” for her delicious meals and knack for cooking – and growing up around a woman who loved food more than anything, and who forced my bratty younger self into the kitchen against my will, I’ve cultivated an inner love and appreciation for insanely delicious flavors.
Born and raised on the East Coast, I moved West to sunny California for college and grad school after which I began my career in Digital Marketing for fast-growing companies in the beauty and fashion space. In the middle of the pandemic, I did a complete career-180 and began working full-time as an interior designer creating custom high-end closets and storage solutions for families around Los Angeles and Orange County.
I started my social media page during Instagram’s infancy in 2012 with no direction and a few pictures of hibiscus flowers, sunsets, and cookies (as one did in 2012). In 2014, KyrstiNicole.com was born out of a love for creating digital content, and from there I stumbled through sharing fashion, beauty, and home décor until ultimately shifting into my largest passions: food and travel.
Today, I’ve evolved my channels into a place filled with recipes, recommendations, and wanderlust moments as a thanks to you – my friends and family – for always keeping me inspired. This space is dedicated to my mom and is made with love for all of you.
