I love hosting parties and gatherings for my friends, and we can all agree that the center of the party is always the alcohol. Being the somewhat over-the-top person that I am, I’m always trying to come up with fun mixed drinks and spritzers for every event. My favorite cocktails and spritzers involve a blend of fresh ingredients such as herbs, fruits, florals, and aromatics to create a full-flavor experience.
I recently created this lovely blackberry spritzer for my annual Christmas party, and it turned out to be a refreshing beverage that I can see working for a variety of seasonal events from spring to winter. The best part is that it’s quick and easy to make in large batches with minimal effort. If you’re looking to make a virgin version, simply skip the vodka and you’ll have a not-too-sweet sipper that everyone can enjoy.
“The leaves, roots, and berries of blackberries were used as a medicinal herb by Native American tribes, including the Cherokee, Kiowa-Apache, Chippewa, Ojibwa, Menominee, Delaware, and Iroquois. Decoctions were made to treat a variety of ailments from lung problems to sore throats.”
